ST. LOUIS - A tornado watch has been issued for much of the St. Louis Metropolitan area for Friday. During a tornado watch, atmospheric conditions are favorable for a tornado to develop, but a tornado has not yet been sighted or indicated by weather radar.The Storm Prediction Center has upgraded the St. Louis Metropolitan area to a Level-4 risk for severe weather Friday. Mother Nature means business on Friday, as winds will become quite gusty from the south as temperatures climb towards 70 degrees. ST. LOUIS - Planned Parenthood filed a lawsuit Friday against Attorney General Andrew Bailey over a civil investigative demand to its St. Louis & Southwest Missouri division. Planned Parenthood says that Bailey sent a Civil Investigative Demand to its St. Louis & Southwest Missouri division that contained over 50 separate requests. Planned Parenthood adds that he pursued HIPAA-protected patient health information and every document that references “social media'' or “Tik Tok.” Planned Parenthood of the St. Louis Region and Southwest Missouri, in a news release, argues that the demands are outside the scope of the attorney general’s power and politically motivated. LOUIS - At least one person is hurt after a shooting Friday afternoon in north St. Louis.The St. Louis Metropolitan Police Department responded to 5000 block of Thrush Avenue in the Walnut Park East neighborhood to investigate the shooting. A Colorado Springs man is facing federal criminal charges for allegedly trying to force his way into the U.S. Capitol past police officers on Jan. 6, 2021.Jonathan Grace, 49, was part of a group that attempted to force its way past officers guarding a tunnel into the Capitol during the Jan. 6, 2021, riot that disrupted the certification of the 2020 election.One officer was smashed between a riot shield and a door frame by the mob. Grace watched as another officer was dragged out of the tunnel and attacked by the mob, his arrest affidavit states. He retreated after he was sprayed with pepper spray.FBI agents identified Grace by comparing Capitol surveillance footage to his Colorado driver’s license. The wind-driven 125 fire that forced the evacuation of the town of Simla southeast of metro Denver on Thursday afternoon has been mostly contained, authorities announced Friday morning.Breaking out in grass Thursday afternoon, this fire burned across about 1,000 acres — until Elbert County crews used road graders to clear vegetation. One person was shot during an alleged car theft in Redondo Beach Friday morning.The reported theft unfolded at 5:25 a.m. near North Lucia Avenue and Agate Street, the Redondo Police Department said in a news release.
