SPRINGFIELD, Ill. – A proposal at the Illinois Capitol would change the way law enforcement handles marijuana during traffic stops. It would stop them from searching cars just because they smell it.Recreational marijuana has been legal in Illinois since 2020. Advocates say since people can have it, they shouldn't necessarily be punished just because an officer smells it in their vehicle.“The mere fact that there may be cannabis inside the vehicle or that somebody inside the vehicle may have the odor of cannabis on their clothing or on their person is not indicative that any criminal activity has occurred,” Ben Ruddell, the director of criminal justice policy at the ACLU of Illinois, said. ST. LOUIS - After reaching his first NBA Finals last season, St. Louis native Jayson Tatum is back in the playoffs and pushing for another chance at a championship. As that journey begins, Tatum also found another way to pay tribute to his hometown. Tatum has teamed up with footwear company Nike to design and release a special pair of Air Jordans. The basketball shoes represent his St. Louis roots in several different ways. The shoes use traces of red, white and river blue similarly to how soccer team CITY SC shows respect to St. Louis. Inside both shoes is a yellow disk design with fleur-de-lis like the one on the city's flag. The tongue of the shoe also has a "Archer Ave" sign, symbolizing Jayson's humble beginnings in St. Louis. The calvary isn’t riding in to save the Rockies, but at least the club got one impactful arm back Wednesday.Colorado activated right-hander Daniel Bard off the injured list ahead of the series finale against the Pirates at Coors Field. The closer had been on the IL due to anxiety since March 30, following poor performances in both Rockies spring training and in three outings for Team USA in the World Baseball Classic.“It feels good to have Daniel back,” Rockies manager Bud Black said. “The last two weeks have been really positive for Daniel. We’re hoping that he can help, and he will. He’s a big part of our bullpen.”The assumption is Bard will re-assume his closer role. By Amy Zipkin, The New York TimesAs the summer concert season approaches and marquee acts like Beyoncé, Metallica and Taylor Swift fill stadiums around the country, developers are casting their eye on a smaller type of entertainment venue: the concert hall. With state-of-the-art design that allows for flexible configurations, these midsize auditoriums can accommodate 1,000 to 6,500 patrons, helping promoters broaden the definition of live entertainment to include concerts, DJ sets, esports and raves, as well as launch parties and trade shows. The versatility of concert halls has led developers to use them to anchor their projects and energize the surrounding neighborhood, a trend that is revitalizing many moribund markets, said Aaron Jensen, who heads commercial and mixed use at HKS, a design firm.“The concert venues are part of a broader mix, conveniently located to transit and residences,” he said.Three miles north of downtown Denver, in a former industrial area known as the River N...Best Online Casinos in Malaysia: Updated List of the Top 5 Online Casino Sites for Malaysian Players in 2023

Knocked Loose Claim Biggest Ever Coachella Circle Pit: Kentucky hardcore/thrash crossover band Knocked Loose are one of the heaviest bands, if not the heaviest band, on this year’s Coachella bill. The circle pit they encouraged certainly knocked a few Coachella sparkles loose. We spoke to Bryan Garris between weekends…How did the set go on weekend one?It was amazing. Honestly, you never really know what to expect at festivals like that – there are so many different artists to choose from. And especially at a fest like Coachella where we’re clearly the black sheep or the oddball. But we kinda like that. I feel like we thrive in that kind of atmosphere. It’s easier to turn heads. And then it just went amazing. None of us really expected to have that kind of reaction, to have that kind of crowd there. It was just better than we could have ever hoped. You were probably the heaviest band on the bill and had the fiercest circle pit. Were you curious about playing in front of t...Latest news
